Message addressed to Miss M. C. Davis of Madison, New Jersey on back of card reads:"Dear Marietta: How would you like to be here and see real live Indian squaws & warriors walk right past you on the street-as I am seeing them today. One of the biggest Indian Reservations in the country is here. They come with long black hair, women have bands around their heads, have a bright colored shawl around their shoulders and their feet tied up in tight moccasine [sic.] like leather bandages. The men all look very old & have hair down to their shoulders, & big brimmed black felt hats on. I will spend the day tomorrow looking over their camp if I can. This is a nice town or city- nice library & and modern in all respects. Here is where they have great big annual round-ups in Sept and it is a great big event for this whole part of Ore. Wish I could send you photos of many of them but costs too much. Am having fine time. Better save these cards for school. Indians come in town in autos mostly. Well educated (for Indians) & high class tribes. Hope you have...fun at the shore. Are you going...? It snowed near here two weeks ago and where I am going in Montana there will be lots of it. It is not dark until after 9:30 ask papa why? Love [?]
