Pawnees- Chief with tribal officers. War Chief of the Pawnees is pictured, center with his interpreters, William Pollock, left, and Ralph Weeks, right. The picture was taken shortly after whites took over a part of the territory that once was theirs. Pollock later distinguished himself as a member of Teddy Roosevelt's rough riders, and now rests in a hero's grave at Pawnee. [Same as photograph .0875]
